Biographical/Historical Note:
Pianist-composer-conductor Glenn Edward Burleigh studied piano at the University of Oklahoma with Digby Bell and Lois Gauger, and at Oklahoma City University with Nancy Ragsdale. Additionally he has coached with James Mathis (former professor of piano at the University of Oklahoma and student of Rosina Lhevinne of the Juilliard School), pianist-composer-conductor Thomas Bricetti (former conductor of the Omaha Symphony), Dr. Joan Gilbert of the University of Memphis and composer George Walker, former professor of music at Rutgers University. He has served as principle accompanist and Assistant Music Director for Lyric Theater of Oklahoma, and accompanist for the School of Dance at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Burleigh has accompanied the Ebony Opera Guild of Houston, TX, and has studied accompanying with its late music director, Dr. Robert Henry. He also studied and performed the Saint Saens Piano Concerto No 2 in a Master Class with Pianist, Jaen Cassadesus, son of Robert and Gaby Cassadesus. In 1999 Glenn began private study of The History of Gospel Music with Dr. Horace Clarence Boyer, professor emiritus, University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
