Scope and Content Note:
The museum’s photograph collection includes a variety of clippings, commercial publicity portraits, head shots, and candid photographs of people and events, apparently from individual personal collections, donations to the museum, collecting by museum staff, and museum events themselves. The photographs are in large part identified, and follow two arrangements: some are stored in Hollinger boxes with indexes, and some, all portraits, are stored in a file drawer in individual labeled file folders. (There are other portraits in the Hollinger boxes.) There are additional photographs in other storage locations. There are also numerous sets of slides, apparently from the travels of Margaret Burroughs, museum founder and former director, as well as slides of the museum’s art collection.
