The Student Activities Funding Committee is a committee made up of 14 students and 7 faculty and staff members. An advisor from the Campus Programs Department oversees the committee. The Committee acts as an advisory to the Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
The mission of the office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs is to create a student body that reflects the diversity of Illinois, facilitate graduation through special programs and services, and establish a positive and diverse learning environment that is necessary to expand student's lives. The purpose of campus programs is to be a resource for cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs. This is accomplished through student organizations and events. Currently there are over 300 student organizations on campus. Some of the main events held by Campus Programs include college bowl, cultural fest, fashion show, fun fair, craft show, exhibits, Friday night live, and taste of UIC.
Scope and Content Note:
This collection contains documents pertaining to the Student Government and Student Congress. The collection ranges in date from 1960 through 1971.Included are student congress minutes, newspaper articles, and correspondence. The collection includes information on the Student Congress, the Committee on Student Affairs, the Board of Trustees, the Conference on University and International Affairs, the International Student Commission, and the Inter-University Council. The collection also includes correspondence.
