Abstract
Biographical/Historical Note:
The Chicago Metro Ethics Coalition is an umbrella organization representing business, civic, religious, and academic organizations concerned with improving the ethical climate in Chicago and Cook County. The organization’s mission is "to build the public’s trust in government through the promotion of clean, competent, and compassionate government in Chicago and Cook County." The Chicago Metro Ethics Coalition conducts research, sponsors conferences and public forums, conducts advocacy campaigns, and publishes a newsletter entitled The Ethics Observer.

Scope and Content Note:
The Chicago Metro Ethics Coalition Records include reports, minutes, memoranda, correspondence, clippings, published articles, copies of Chicago ordinances and other legal documents, financial statements, budgets, policy statements, press releases, and administrative materials. Materials from affiliated organizations and organizations contracted to conduct research on behalf of the Coalition such as the Wirthlin Group also constitute part of these records.
